Yellow gamma radiography camera (exposure device / source projector) used for industrial RT.
Overview
Gamma radiography uses short-wavelength gamma radiation (commonly Iridium-192) to penetrate materials and produce a two-dimensional image on film or digital media. The radiograph reveals surface and subsurface discontinuities such as cracks, lack of fusion, porosity, and inclusions.
Applications
- Pressure piping, pressure vessels, and large storage tanks
- Pipelines, castings, forgings, fittings, valves, and structural welds
- Fabrication and in-service inspection programs
Capabilities & Considerations
Iridium-192 is typically suitable for steel up to approximately 2.5 inches thick. Access to both sides of the component is required for conventional film or plate placement. Cave Inspection Ltd. adheres to all CNSC regulations; controlled areas are established and evacuated as required to protect personnel and the public.
